This photo from the Immediate Family series shows her 10-year-old daughter with a chocolate cigarette. What matters to me in this photo is about the essence of photography. Namely to capture that one moment. With this image, Sally Mann managed to capture both her youth's youthfulness and adulthood. Both the uncertainty about what will come and the determination to advance there are both contained in this image. Of a motherly beauty!
