CITI-VAL Analysis of collected data

CITI-VAL PROJECT / ERASMUS+ 2016-1-FR01-KA204- 023961 / MARTA FEKETE – JUDIT HEGEDUS (HUNGARY) 3 THE RESULTS The results will be presented country-wise but first let us provide a quick glimpse of the number of questionnaires received to evaluate. Quite a lot of questionnaires were received: the most arrived from Turkey (23 – 5 used in analysis), followed by France (9 – 9 used), Spain (6 – 3 used), Hungary (4 – 3 used) and Germany (2 – 1 used). Some of the received questionnaires had to be eliminated as their strong relationship with citizenship value education cannot be proved. Many of them were to train skilled labourers and others were in connection with religious education (which can also be seen as citizenship education if one takes strong value building through religious knowledge and faith into account, but in this case these sessions were held by religious education teachers or preachers and were focusing on Holy Scriptures reading, for example). A flaw of the questionnaire at this point is that the researchers failed to follow up based on what principles the respondents believed that a religious education or a skilled labour education session would count as citizenship value education. Therefore, among the 44 questionnaires one can find reports on vocational training (carpenter, cook), courses related to elementary education (literacy courses) and competence or civic values trainings. All in all, the number of those strictly associated with citizenship values are 21 out of the 44 (48%). So the researchers used these 21 as a basis of analysis and research. 9 6 23 4 2 9 3 5 3 1 0 5 10 15 20 25 France Spain Turkey Hungary Germany Number of questionnaires Associated w/ citizenship
