CITI-VAL Analysis of collected data

CITI-VAL PROJECT / ERASMUS+ 2016-1-FR01-KA204- 023961 / MARTA FEKETE – JUDIT HEGEDUS (HUNGARY) 5 FRANCE From France we received a total number of 9 questionnaires from 9 prisons with a total number of 358 participants. The students features were 146 under 25 years of age - male, 151 over 25 years of age – male, 36 under 25 – female, 25 above 25 – female. The guiding principles based on which the courses were compiled were – including but not limited to – the following: mutual respect and listening, practice of the debate, religious knowledge, what one means by values of the republic and citizenship, sensitization, moral dilemmas, notion of differences, fighting discrimination, etc. These goals and objectives were executed through different types of activities, like art therapy (fresco painting) and factual education (like historical point of views). Some of them addressed the understanding of the values of the French Republic through differences (ethnic, racial, sexual, health, education, religion, … ). The material and didactic resources were video projector, films from the Internet, education software, texts and iconography, sound recorder. The number of students who finished the course can be an indicator of a successful course, as well as the types of pedagogical settings and courses. Most of the courses were group works or a mix of different types of pedagogical methods, the course types are mostly active and interdisciplinary, discovery-based and meaningful. There were courses that can be seen as successful – based on the number of participants – as 95% of the convicts finished the course (Saint Martin de Ré). However, there were courses where teachers indicated that the number of participants is unequal (Limoges, 3 out of 32 participants). There have been themes that raised radical ideas in the under 25-year-old participants (Eysses sequence). The professionals working with the inmates were professors from university (history of law, philosophy) prison staff, teacher of plastic art, trainers, social workers and teacher graduated for helping people with special needs. 146 151 36 12 0 50 100 150 200 <25M >25M <25F >25F Number of learners
