CITI-VAL Analysis of collected data

CITI-VAL PROJECT / ERASMUS+ 2016-1-FR01-KA204- 023961 / MARTA FEKETE – JUDIT HEGEDUS (HUNGARY) 7 HUNGARY Hungary asked 3 prisons – one for adult male, one for juveniles and one for adult female. We received a total number of 3 activities with 46 participants, among whom one can find 16 under 25 male, 12 above 25 male, 6 under 25 female, 12 above 25 female. The goals and objectives of the Hungarian methods were to develop and improve social competences, to diminish recidivism, to respect human rights, to raise self-awareness and the responsibility of the self. Some of the courses addressed moral and ethical issues. Most of the programs mentioned and collected in the questionnaires were led by university teachers or representatives of a non-profit foundation, some of the courses were taught by professionals, who work in the prison (psychologists, reintegration officers). This means a lot of extra work beside the otherwise heavy work. Teachers, who offer elementary education for the inmates are often volunteers, who come after their usual workhours spent in schools, colleges. Sometimes the lack of motivation provided obstacle in achieving the goals and sometimes the difficulty of arranging a program in the everyday life of a prison (time management). 16 12 6 12 0 5 10 15 20 <25M >25M <25F >25F Number of learners
